What it is
Hamilton Dog Training is a six-month online dog training school for owners. You and your dog go from struggling with reactivity and unreliable obedience to being fully off-leash trained and a dog you can trust to listen anywhere.
You enroll as a student, work through a structured curriculum, and your dog is your capstone project. You train alongside a cohort of classmates with dogs like yours, and whenever you hit a problem, me and my team are there to give you personalized feedback the same day.
🎓 You graduate with two things: a fully off-leash trained dog, and the skills to maintain that training for life.
Who it's for
I want to be clear about who this is for and who it isn't, because it's not for everyone.
HDT is for you if
- You're already training every day, but your dog is still reactive or still ignores commands when it matters most.
- You don't just want to fix your dog's problems, you want the outcome training provides: off-leash walks, fetch at the park, hikes on the weekend.
- You value a clear, structured plan and knowing exactly what to do next instead of guessing.
- You need to understand the why behind training for it to actually make sense.
- You understand that to get the relationship you want with your dog, you are the one who needs to train and improve your skills.
HDT is not for you if
- You just want your dog's problems to go away.
- You're not willing to train every day, follow a plan, or actually apply the feedback we give you.
- You get defensive when someone tells you what to fix, or you're hoping I'll do the work for you.
- You don't actually care about giving your dog off-leash freedom or improving your own skills.
- Enrolling would put you in crippling debt and have you eating ramen for six months. We don't want your last dollar.
- You're not good with technology, your dog is under 5 months old, or they have a bite history. Online training is not the appropriate format for you.
I'm not here to convince anyone to join. HDT works because the students inside it are serious. They show up, they do the work, and they push each other to improve. When you enroll, that's the room you're walking into.
If you want the life you pictured with your dog, you have to be the one who builds it. You are the one who needs the training, not your dog.

Why nothing else has worked
There are only two possible reasons you could be stuck despite training every day.
You've been following the wrong information.
Maybe you've been working with a "force-free" trainer, so your dog knows every command in the book, but completely blows you off around distractions, and they're still just as reactive today as they were 3 months ago.
If you're following the wrong information, it doesn't matter how hard you train. You will never get to where you want to go.
You're following the right information, the wrong way.
You're learning from great trainers, maybe watching my videos every night. But you're stitching together pieces from five different systems in no particular order, skipping fundamentals you don't even know exist, and nobody is checking your reps.
As far as you know, you're doing everything right. Meanwhile, you're practicing small mistakes over and over until they become habits you have to undo later.
Dog training is a skill. And like any other skill, whether it be a sport or an instrument, there is a progression. Understand the fundamentals first, practice the core skills, then ladder up to more advanced skills later. You hire a coach to correct your mistakes early so they never become bad habits.
Everyone knows this. But for some reason, nobody applies it to dog training.
And skills must be taught. That's why it's not enough to just work with a skilled trainer, they also have to be a skilled teacher. Because if the skills never transfer to you, the training will never stick long-term.
A skill is built one way: doing the right things, the right way, in the right order.
Everything you've tried up to this point has failed because you were missing at least one of those three. And nothing in the dog training industry is designed to give you all of them.
A board and train trains the dog, not you. Even a great in-person trainer can't transfer the skills to you in only one hour a week. Online courses and YouTube videos, including mine, only give you information, not the skill.
That's why I built HDT like a school.
How the school works
The moment you enroll, you start Blueprint, our cornerstone curriculum that takes any dog from untrained to fully off-leash trained. Here's how the school gives you all three:
One system, start to finish
You follow one proven training system the whole way through. No more stitching together pieces from five different trainers, no more conflicting advice, no more guessing who to listen to.
A weekly training plan
Every week you know exactly what to work on. You start with the simple core skills and ladder up, so you never have gaps in your foundation and you're never guessing what comes next.
Same-day feedback on your footage
Post your training footage or a question and get a clear action plan from me and my team the same day. We spot your mistakes before they become habits.
How much time is required per day: all of the training fits within two walks per day and a play session. You watch some videos in between. You probably already spend enough time with your dog, we just need to change what you're doing during that time.
And if you ever leave town or go on vacation for a couple weeks, no biggie. You just pick up where you left off. You progress through the curriculum at your own pace.
At the end, you submit your graduation video: you and your dog, off leash, in the real world, around distractions. I personally review every graduation video to ensure it's up to HDT standards. If you pass, I send you an exclusive HDT Alumni Hoodie, earned by graduating, impossible to buy.

🎓 Hear It From HDT Graduates...
Jeremy H.
📍 Pennsylvania, USA 🐕 Roni (Staffordshire Terrier)
“Roni would lunge, bark, and snarl until she choked herself into submission. We would actively avoid any possibility of running into dogs. Life-changing is an understatement. On an average work day, my favorite thing to do is take Roni on a walk to our favorite cafe, pop her in a down outside, and get myself a coffee.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Barbara N.
📍 Sternberk, Czechia 🐕 Kira (German Shepherd)
“Kira was reactive to dogs, cars, bikes... basically everything. We tried a local training group. It was all purely positive training, and the reactivity kept getting worse. Then I found Miles's videos and HDT. It clicked instantly. HDT took us from chaos to confidence, from frustration to freedom. My only regret? Not joining sooner!” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Andrew R.
📍 United States 🐕 Penny (American Pit Bull Mix)
“Today we trust her 100% off leash, even in the most distracting environments. This trust has allowed us to grow our relationship with our dog in ways that I think most dog owners never get to experience. Not a day goes by that someone doesn't ask us ‘are you a professional dog trainer??’” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Mark & Sofia
📍 Amsterdam, Netherlands 🐕 Moos
“The results speak for themselves. Moos' transformation has changed our lives. We can take him anywhere. Our lives no longer revolve around constantly managing his behavior. This summer, we are camping again, something we avoided last year because of his reactivity.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jordyn K.
📍 Alberta, Canada 🐕 Indie (Husky) & Goose (Border Collie)
“I tried so many things before committing to this program: positive reinforcement, online courses, in-person training. The way this program is laid out is so comprehensive, thorough, and easy to follow. HDT will push you out of your comfort zone but it will be the best thing you and your dog will ever do.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Matthew P.
📍 Texas, USA 🐕 Kumo (Husky Mix)
“I'm super proud of all the progress Kumo and myself have made. I don't think I thought this was really possible a year ago. I definitely used to think I might have got the wrong dog and made excuses because he's a husky. But he was the perfect dog for me and has changed my life.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Toby F.
📍 United Kingdom 🐕 Max (Labrador Retriever)
“From the first day of being part of the group, I knew this would be different. I followed the program exactly as written, and it has been amazing! Max and I have a relationship based upon trust and mutual respect.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Melissa N.
📍 Oregon, USA 🐕 Theo (Australian Labradoodle)
“When I joined HDT, everything changed. The structured approach gave me a clear path to follow, which made training feel achievable. The feedback from Miles, Rachel, and the community was incredible, much more personalized and supportive than what I had experienced before.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tatia K.
📍 New Mexico, USA 🐕 Cooper & Max
“After 2 different positive-only methods failed, I was watching Miles on YouTube and his methods really resonated with me. The community was so encouraging, and Miles actually spends time in the forum looking at people's posts, which wasn't happening in the other two programs I had tried. Take the plunge!” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jorge A.
📍 Philadelphia, USA 🐕 Mona (Pit Mix)
“This program gave us everything we could have wanted: a strong play relationship, structure in the home, and off-leash reliability so we can enjoy the world together. We are forever grateful to Miles and this community.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Kae M.
📍 Colorado, USA 🐕 Momo
“When Momo first came to us as a puppy, she was very shy and timid, afraid of so many things in her world. HDT has helped us overcome her fears, build her confidence, and strengthen our relationship beyond what we ever imagined.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Summer & Chase
📍 USA 🐕 Sierra (Husky)
“Above all, what HDT gave us was hope. Especially the message that any breed (even a husky) can be off-leash trained. At first, that felt impossible. Our husky? Off leash? No way. But we gave it a shot. It was the best decision we've made for ourselves and for Sierra.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Frequently Asked Questions
How much is tuition?
Tuition is $2,500 for a six-month enrollment into the school. Payment plans are available at checkout.
Tuition increases to $3,000 on September 1st. If you're planning on joining, this is the last chance to join at the current price.
How much time do I need to spend training every day?
All of the training fits within two walks per day and a play session. You watch some videos in between.
You probably already spend enough time with your dog. We just need to change what you're doing during that time.
Will this work for my dog?
Our system works on all dogs, regardless of age, size, or breed. The school is built for dogs 5 months and older.
That said, every dog has their own characteristics, traits, and tendencies. That's exactly why same-day feedback is the most important thing you get. You post your training footage or your question, and me and my team tell you how to apply the training to your dog, not a hypothetical one.
A course can't do that. A video can't do that. That's the difference between information and a school.
I've already watched all of your YouTube videos. Why do I need the school?
The videos show you what to do. They can't tell you when to do it, what order to do it in, or whether you're doing it right.
That's the missing piece. Inside the school you follow a weekly plan in order, you apply it to your dog, and we review your footage to make sure your reps are correct. When you get stuck, you don't guess. You ask, and you get a clear action plan the same day.
Dog training is a skill, and information alone doesn't build a skill. My videos give you information. The school is what turns it into a skill.
How does the same-day feedback actually work?
You post inside the community. Either a question, or a video of you training your dog.
Me and my team watch it, tell you what we see, and give you a clear action plan: here's what's happening, here's what to do differently, here's what to do next. Same day.
That's the whole reason mistakes don't turn into habits inside the school.
What if I fall behind, or life gets busy?
You move through the curriculum at your own pace. There's no cohort you can fall behind, and nothing expires while you're enrolled.
If you leave town or go on vacation for a couple weeks, you pick up where you left off. And if you go quiet, we reach out and make sure you have a clear plan to get going again.
What if I can't make the weekly call?
Submit your question in advance and I'll answer it on the call whether you're there or not.
Every call is recorded and posted with timestamps, so you can jump straight to the answer you need instead of watching the whole thing.
What if my dog doesn't care about treats?
We prefer using food in the early stages of training whenever possible, but it is not required. Your success within the system does not depend on it.
What training supplies will I need?
We give you a complete supply list the moment you enroll, along with my personal recommendations.
What if I'm training my dog with my spouse or partner?
You have two options.
Option 1: complete the training together. Watch the videos together, walk together, train together, problem-solve together, and take turns handling the dog. Ideal when you're both equally motivated.
Option 2: one partner becomes the primary handler and completes the training while the other plays a supporting role. Ideal when one of you is more invested than the other.
Neither option is better or worse, but pick one at the start. What matters is that the two of you are on the same page.
What if I have multiple dogs that need training?
We recommend taking each dog through the curriculum simultaneously, then training them together. That works best in most situations.
The other option is one dog at a time, which is most effective when one dog needs training desperately and the other doesn't.
How long will it take to see results?
Most students see results within their first week, and a significant transformation within 30 days.
The full curriculum runs six months, and you move through it at your own pace.
